Stratford-upon-Avon is a thriving town steeped in culture and history.

Set in the beautiful rural Warwickshire countryside, on the banks of the river Avon, it is one of the most important tourist destinations in the UK, as well as an important local commercial centre and an extremely desirable place to live and work.

With good road, rail and airport access, Stratford-upon-Avon boasts excellent facilities for businesses, and is the home to a number of major companies.

The town centre, described as a taste of Olde England, provides one of the region’s best selections for shopping and entertainment. The town is also a major tourist attraction as it can claim to be the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the greatest playwright who ever lived. Shakespeare's significance to the town can be found in his families' houses, but Stratford is not afraid to embrace the modern age, as evidenced by the many exciting new buildings which add to the rich diversity of the town.

The excellent motorway and road links mean there is a thriving business community, with many large corporations and the Royal Shakespeare Company siting their headquarters in the town.

Meanwhile, there is a strong commitment to developing and promoting sport in the town, with extensive facilities including a major sports centre, swimming pool and many areas of parkland.

There is a great support for the arts, and while the town is home to the RSC, a great support is also given to developing arts initiatives and projects for all sections of the community.
