Last land released
for sale at Cardiff's Ponprennau...

Pontprennau, Cardiff, 2001:

The exciting Pontprennau community on the outskirts of Cardiff is nearing completion as the last piece of new homes land is due to be released for sale.

Totaling 2.9 hectares, the site is the final piece of developable land to be offered to housebuilders and will mark the completion of the ten-year project. Only the identified school site remains to be developed after the sale of this last piece of housebuilding land.

The land is being offered by Heron Land Developments, who, in partnership with the Welsh Development Agency Land Division (formerly the Land Authority for Wales) identified and promoted the much-needed new community on the eastern outskirts of the City of Cardiff.

Speaking about the final piece of new homes land, Heron LD Director, Stephen Bailey said:

"It marks the end of era. The creation of Pontprennau has been a tremendous success at every level, with the development of the highly successful commercial and employment areas, alongside the extremely popular community of new homes - which are now some of the most sought after in the area."

He continued: "It has also served to illustrate the success of the Welsh Development Agency's approach to development in the region and showcase the tremendous value of the joint venture partnership approach taken by the authority with Heron."

The appeal of homes at Pontprennau also illustrates the high level of demand in general for new homes in and around the capital, and the new community is suggested by some as being to obvious choice for further expansion because of its excellent infrastructure and close proximity to the M4 motorway.

Bellway Homes is the latest housebuilder to offer homebuyers a new home at Pontprennau with the purchase of the penultimate piece of developable land during the summer months of 1999. Meanwhile, the final 2.9 hectare site is sure to be snapped up quickly as demand for homes remains strong.
